Saturday was a dream come true for these high school sweethearts….and a long time coming for two who were so sweetly in LOVE and excited to start their lives together as husband and wife! Amanda was a wonderful detail-oriented bride who spoke my language – her beautiful gown is part of the Disney Wedding’s collection by Alfred Angelo – the “Belle” and her color scheme used the same beautiful blue hue from the fairytale! And then there were the shoes. Future brides, it’s not a requirement but I get soooo excited when I’m presented with shoes like these….beautiful colors and sparkles!!! Enjoy this Part 1 of Amanda & Matt’s beautiful wedding at Seven Oaks Country Club – I may have gone over board with a TON of photos – so enjoy! To the families, wedding party, and Matt & Amanda – thank you so much for an amazing wedding day and for being so wonderful to work with!!!
Matt gifted to his groom men unique cufflinks that fit each guy’s personality – soooooo cool!
Mr. GQ Pose…..way to work it Matt!

Smizing + Zoolander all in one. Get it.
I love that I got to photograph this moment of all the Legro men together as grandpa gave Matt some wonderful marriage advice and a sweet toast ![]()

Then it was grandma’s turn to provide Matt a blessing….such a wonderful moment!
I absolutely adore that Amanda wanted to give her dad a special “First Look” at her all dressed up and ready to be a bride!
This smile was on Amanda’s face all day – absolutely gorgeous

You ladies are all gorgeous – and that blue, just perfect for photos!!
Amand and her beautiful mom! Absolutely LOVED this mother of the bride gown!
House of Flowers – absolutely gorgeous bouquets and pom ball!
Amanda’s bouquet – gotta love when I convince the groom it’s sexy to hold his wife’s bouquet ;)

Guys – you rock…had to share your non-traditional poses
Thanks for having fun with me!
The gorgeous Legro family mere moments before they got a new daughter to add to the family!

Wedding Party – one of my all time favorite images – you guys rocked the light beautifully!
Congratulations Matt & Amanda!!!!!!! Wishing you two a lifetime of happiness!
Thank you again for trusting your special day to me, I’m so honored!

Freyday – Shutter Clique Shootout
May 11, 2012
Hi everyone!! I hope you’ve all had an awesome Freyday so far
(remember, same pronunciation as Friday!). I wanted to share some quick images today that I got at yesterday’s Shutter Clique monthly meet-up. It’s been a few years since Jennifer Williams and I first became friends because she had tweeted about this group she wanted to start here in Bakersfield where photographers could get together and meet one another and just shoot for fun! We started with 4, then quickly became 10 and holy cow – last night, there were at least 50 photographers and about 8 models! I was excited to see how large our group has grown (Facebook says we have 700 likes!) and how many friendships and 2nd shooters/assistants have formed through this group!
So if you’re a Bakersfield/local Central CA photographer (all levels welcome), check us out on facebook for up to date information and monthly gathering information:
https://www.facebook.com/theshutterclique
Here are a few of the shots I got after getting there late after my own photo shoot – with my settings, so fellow photographers see what you think! Thanks Tim Chong for letting me test out the new Nikon D800 too!!
Thank you models and shout out again to Jennifer Williams and Patrick Ang for continuing to provide a fun gathering each month for all of us to enjoy!!

Turning 30!
May 2, 2012
Today is my birthday.
YEA!!!! I’m one of those girls that gets really excited about celebrating birthdays and typically make a big deal about it – and yes, typically rock a tiara for that extra sparkle on a special day. However today, I’m hitting the ‘BIG 3-0″. I’m enjoying a quiet week away to relax and celebrate with my husband, mom and best friend….and it’s wonderful. Nothing splashy, a quiet dinner and some of the most important people in my life singing Happy Birthday to me (miss you dad & Jason/Megan/Moe/Andria/Aub/Jen – wish you could be here too!)
So, we’re off to celebrate ‘Jessica -style’ and head to my happy place, Disneyland! I hope you all have a wonderful day & thank you so much for following my blog and my adventures!
(BIG Thank you to the Stephanie & Courtney at Gimmee Some Sugar for my beautiful birthday cake!!!! You ladies are wonderful!)

One of these days – I would love to go to Disneyland with you on your birthday. Not mine.. but yours.
I bet it’s like a thousand times more magical on Princess Jessica’s birthday. Hope your day is awesome!

Steven & Hannah – Noriega House Wedding
April 30, 2012
I’m so excited to finally show Hannah & Steven (and family and friends) their sneak peek from their wedding a week ago! Since these two love birds hopped a cruise ship and would be gone all week we held off until today
Their wedding at the beautiful Noriega House was so sweet and a joy to capture. The love these two have for one another was radiating all day, and the smiles the put on each other’s faces made my job sooooo easy
Here are some of my favorite detail shots along with their First Look and couple photos. A big shout out thank you to Casey Hardy for second shooting and to Tim Chong, my fellow Nikon buddy for letting me test drive his amazing Nikon tilt shift lens!
Hannah & Steven – life works in mysterious ways and I’m so blessed that I was able to be your photographer and capture your special day for you. Thank you for going with your ‘original plan’ & to Tabby for the recommendation! I wish you guys many many many years of happiness together and a big congratulations!!! – Jessica

Girl……gotta LOVE my brides who rock sparkly shoes on their wedding day. Makes my glitter-obsessed heart smile

I absolutely adore when my couples choose to do a “First Look’ – where we set them up in a private area for them to see each other for the first time before the ceremony. It’s always a great emotional moment that I enjoy capturing and this one was no exception! The anticipation and joyful excitement Steven had anticipating his bride’s arrival was adorable – and their reactions were priceless…..
True Vogue-style. Work it Hannah!!
I’ll have Part 2 up next Monday so come back for the ceremony/wedding party/reception!

Pretty, pretty, pretty my friend! I love how the wall color coordinates with her colors. And that shoe shot…FAB!!! Great job as usual

Hey! I just had to leave a comment after looking at these pictures. The reactions to this couple doing a ‘first look’ touched me so I actually started crying. Your work is spot on! I found a behind the scenes video of your work on YouTube & then your blog. I’m a stay at home mom & I do my photography on the side. It’s my passion & I’ve turned it into my hobby. You’ve inspired me! I look forward to seeing more.

Freyday
April 27, 2012
I attended our annual Bakersfield’s Women’s Business Conference yesterday – and our main speaker was Tyra Banks! She did a great job, taught us all how to smize correctly, and posed for a few quick photos in the VIP room. I was able to grab a shot of friend and owner of Details Party Rental Denette with Tyra – and consider this a moment
Tyra was looking into MY camera, so check off that one! Thank you to all the amazing women I’ve worked with and got to see at the conference – Ida, you rock!
I love that my own Fairy Godmother was hosting Tyra during the day and I caught this look that we all give to Colleen for being such an amazing woman!
And here are 2 sneak peeks of Steven & Hannah’s wedding day at the beautiful Noriega House! Come back on Monday to view their first post!

I love reading your freyday post! Just thought I’d let you know that you bring excitement to my day off:)
Such an awesome post! Let’s see, I’m not really surprised by any of them because of the outgoing person you are, I’m surprised I knew that you did so many of them. As I was reading I was like, “Oh yeah…I remember her telling me that and that and that”. A testament to our true friendship!
I was a little surprise about the Salt Lake “Floating” ewww
For me…I counted up 56 have dones, pretty close! Many are the same as yours and some are different. I think one of the ones I would love to do is buy a stranger a meal…that would be cool! And visit the White House
Happy weekend my friend!!!
