Freyday – Austin in March!
March 16, 2012
Howdy y’all! I’ve been home in Austin now for almost a week and have had such a great time catching up with old friends, photographing them and eating my fair share of Tex-Mex goodness
I figured I would share some images that if you don’t follow me on Facebook (hi Mom!) you haven’t seen yet! My first session was with my good friend Adrienne, her husband Karl and their sweet sweet little baby girl! We had a great time heading back to our old stomping grounds and I’m excited to say I’ve now officially been dubbed their personal family photographer
Enjoy some of the images from this week’s sessions and have a great weekend – Happy St. Patrick’s Day everyone!!

One of my best friends in High School was Amy aka “Mamma”- and it’s been so great seeing how blessed her family has been and finally get to meet her little girls! Amy and David are expecting their 3rd so we did a quick couples/maternity/family shoot while we were both home
Congratulations you guys!

My good friend Brooke met up with me for an afternoon of commercial/fashion/headshot photos and we had a blast during our “Sequence in the Country” shoot!

I also had the privilege of photographing Presley for her HS Senior photos! Such a beautiful and sweet girl – good luck next year at A&M!! Whoop!

Love Celebrated – It’s Marvliss!
May 23, 2011
Marvin & Phyliss – Married 15 years
Love is so simple and is such beautiful thing. A look you get, a look you receive, holding hands, sneaking in a few kisses, and just smiling with the look on your face that you’re happy and complete because of the person who just looked at you that way, held your hand, or gave you that kiss.
I feel so blessed and privileged that my main job as a photographer is to capture the emotion and the outpouring of love with my camera. Whether that’s on your wedding day, or just as I did with Marvin and Phyliss…taking 15 min. to let us capture that love to pass on for generations to come. Last week I had the chance to not only see one of my oldest friends who was in town visiting from NYC, but take a walk through memory lane as Phyliss (Ariana’s grandma) recounted stories of my childhood when the two of us would play Barbies and ride out bikes around the old neighborhood
Evidently I look just as I did when I was 10 years old and I’ll take that as an awesome compliment! I had gotten to see Phyliss and Marvin as an adult when we lived out in Virginia, but was so excited to be their guests for a few days here in California to relax, enjoy wonderful food and get to catch up on life and how they were doing!
One evening at dinner (watching the sun set while out on the patio of a lovely restraunt on Sunset Blvd I’ll have you know…yea for Hollywood cliche’s!) I leaned over to Ariana and mentioned that these two love birds sitting across from me were being so cute and affectionate and I immideately wanted to capture it…’do you think they’ll let me do a quick photo shoot tomorrow?’ So after Phyliss and I blew out our joint birthday cake and were sung to by several french guys, I leaned over and asked (with the intention in the back of my mind that I never had the nerve to ask my own grandparents and now their adorable love is only ingrained in my memory and not captured) and asked. Phyliss was excited and immediately said Yes! So, we planned to meet up after their day full of activities and wait for the sun to be ‘just right’ before I took them on a quick 8 min. photo walk in their neighborhood. Thank you Marvin and Phyliss for letting me earn my keep by using my photography skills to capture your honest and beautiful love for one another! Here are a few of my favorites we took just outside their home in the beautiful Beverley Hills :0)
Phyliss, you are stunning…such a grace and beauty about you!
Aren’t they precious!

Martin Family
March 16, 2011
Fabulous family alert! Check out the Martin family photos in the Bakersfield almond blossoms that we took last week! We had a great time and I enjoyed getting to work with them. They’re all so sweet and it was fun seeing everyone’s personalities combine into a fun family unit. I’ve known Dana for a while now, have taken Jordyn’s senior photos, and met Allie a few days before Jarret proposed! It was great seeing the entire family together, work with some fun props (baseballs!) and even have an opportunity to take some photos if the youngest, Jaisyn to update their wall of photos. This session was a gift that Jarret & Allie got Dana for her Christmas present! Also, if you’ve ever read a Bakersfield Life magazine, you’ve seen some of Dana’s fabulous articles that I sometimes get the opportunity to take photos for!
Thanks everyone for a great session, for being patient with me and the sun changes and good luck this year Jarret with your season and enjoy your engagement to a spectacular woman!!
**Sidenote, I’m still in Texas all this week! Our weekend in Louisiana for engagement photos for Maureen and Alan went amazing! The Rip Van Winkle gardens on Jefferson Island made for a stunning backdrop along with another session with Houston’s skyline at sunset as our backdrop! Stay tuned for those on Monday along with a Louisiana photo re-cap of my trip on the Freyday blog! I am trying to respond to emails now that I have full access to a computer, so please continue to be patient with me! Thanks so much!!

Ildiko and John – A Lifestyle/Family shoot
February 23, 2011
Lifestyle Portraits in Bakersfield
I had the pleasure of meeting Ildiko and John at a wedding earlier this year…and we booked a lifestyle portrait session before they left to go back home to Wyoming. I’ve been looking forward to seeing them again for this shoot for a while and was excited that the rain held off last week to give us beautiful light and a nice wind tunnel! John & Ildiko vacationed at The Padre Hotel which was such a great location for portraits! We hung out, captured Ildiko’s natural stunning beauty and had a ton of laughs with her and John together! My ‘lifestyle’ portraits are all about celebrating life and enjoying one another….and capturing that to treasure forever! Ildiko and John…thank you so much for coming back to Bakersfield and trusting me to capture some wonderful photos of you! I had a blast helping you style outfits, laughing at key phrases, and checking out the hotel with you! Safe travels and enjoy a few of my favorites:

Austin Family Photos – Ashley Family
I love the Ashley’s! And I was so excited that my aunt wanted to use the time while we were all together in Austin, TX to get dressed up and get some photos taken of their growing family…especially since Patrick, my cousin Aubree’s husband is like mine and rarely able to make family functions due to the military! So, we got up, I picked everyone’s outfits out, grabbed the dogs and headed back to my new favorite spot in Austin! Love you guys….
This photo made me laugh so hard…the dogs ran off and my cousin West just went…well, weird. Love you Westie!
We did a mini-Beloved session with my favorite Aunt and Uncle….
The men.
I had Cody get up early after a night out to join us as my ‘assistant’. This is what he did. Very helpful in getting the dogs attention…thanks Cody! ;)
And as a reference for any future families….it’s bad form to take pictures of me while taking pictures of you
Thanks Jimmy!
I’m always willing to come back to Austin for family photos, so just email/call/Facebook me to see when my next trip home is!
Be sure to check out Wednesday’s post…Ashley & Matt’s sparkle/glitter/awesome filled engagement shoot in Paso Robles, CA!

A Beloved Session – Aubree & Patrick – Austin Wedding Photographer
January 26, 2011
Patrick & Aubree: A Beloved photo session
“A beloved portrait session is not just a photo shoot, it’s a celebration of love and genuine communication. As beloved photographers, we want to make honest images that move people, that document these small moments that you cherish but perhaps sometimes forget. These images serve as a doorway to bring two people back to the beginning of their journey together. We invite couples to share a piece of themselves and capture valuable moments through the art of photography.” – The Beloved Movement
Aubree and Patrick are so dear to me. She’s practically my sister, I was the Matron of Honor at their wedding 2 1/2 years ago. Currently we live on opposite ends of the country and see each other about once a year if we’re lucky to visit home (Austin) at the same time. Her husband is also in the military and these two love birds are often seperated from one another. I took this opportunity to have them together in our home town to do a “Beloved” sessionwith me to showcase their love for one another and freeze this moment in their marriage to cherish and gaze at whenever the military takes them apart. Having lived and gone to school in Dripping Springs, I’ve always driven past this awesome old train car off 290 and thought it would be a perfect location for some really fun texture. Add to that I got to pick out their wardrobe: we went with a brown & turquoise color scheme and it made for an organized fabulous session! I love you guys, thanks again for a great morning!
Josh de Rox is a photographer that captured my attention at 2010 WPPI convention and I learned about the idea of a “Beloved” session after the wedding, for couples, anytime. ”The concept was to explore photography as a means to celebrate and renew relationship, the emphasis being to create the ideal environment for the couple to experience each other. Instead of taking images of people and trying to make them look happy or in love, he focused on inviting them to a place where they were feeling incredible joy and deep love, acutely aware of their connection with one another, and then capturing those powerful, genuine expressions.”

Happy Birthday Elle!!!! This sweet girl is walking, smiling and is such a joyful little girl. I had the pleasure of meeting her parents when she was in the womb for maternity photos! Since then, I’ve gotten to know the Adams family and feel so honored to be able to photograph their growing family…newborn photos, Christmas photos, and now her 1 year old pictures! We had a blast at the park, and what kid doesn’t love balloons! Happy Birthday, enjoy your party Elle and keep squeeking! <3 Tita Jessica

Fun relaxed 7 month old portraits – Professional Photographer
September 13, 2010
Babies everywhere! It’s that time in my life where many of my girlfriends are transitioning from husband and wife to starting their little families. It’s an exciting time to visit each other and see their new additions and last week was no exception! This session was one I’d been looking to for a while since I only get to see Andria about once a year now. We were roomates in Maryland, lived together while our boys were overseas, I was her matron of honor, and now I get to meet their newest addition…. Miss Aubree! Andria is also an amazing photographer and wanted a relaxed session where she’s in front of the camera with her little girl. We had a great time capturing little moments and Aubree in the tutu I got her before she was here!
Congrats Andria & Kevin, she’s beautiful and I’m beyond thrilled for our Texas reunion!!

Love you Andria and so excited we’ve had some time to hang out and take photos of sweet baby Aubree!
