So…who had a good week?! And who’s excited about the Hunger Games movie that came out at midnight? If you had asked me that a week ago I would’ve been clueless. I decided during my 2 week trip to Austin I would actually have some downtime to read a few books, and since I’m curious about the 3 book series of the Hunger Games (thanks Courtney, Jennifer, Katelyn and Mindy!) I decided to give it a go. I started book 1 on the airplane and once I got into it, couldn’t stop! So I managed to stay up late, read in between photo shoots in my car, and I finished all 3 by the time I got back to California. I thought, who wants to read a book about kids killing other kids? But that’s not the root of the story is it? What are your thoughts on why it’s so popular? Peeta or Gale?
The other thing that happened this week was date night. Eric got us rink side tickets to our local minor league hockey team – the Bakersfield Condors! I knew within seconds of the game starting the only reason he got rink side seats was to hear me squeal, gasp and possibly say a few choice words as men and pucks were hurled at the thin glass window in front of my seat! Seriously?! This was my first time to a hockey game and I realized quickly that although these guys are athletes and I appreciate their sport — their fans are a nightmare! I mean, who sits there, pounds on the glass and mouths off rude insults to the players as they skate by?! Pointing at them and saying ” you suck. We hate you.” Oh, the men next to me. Really? Cause I’m pretty sure if they could come around the glass there would’ve been a few fans lying on the ground. I couldn’t believe the class-less-ness of it all – kids screaming rude things at players asking when they were going to fight each other. It was a bit too barbaric for my tastes, but I managed to enjoy that I could do the opposite and wave and smile as they skated by – possibly wondering, what’s up with that girl and why is she smiling? 😉 Hockey fans don’t wave.
Anyway, have an awesome weekend and celebrate all the little things that make life enjoyable 🙂
Condors score! But in the end, Colorado won 3-2
BAM!!!
I got such a kick out of Zamboni and our local Chevy dealer’s ad. Genius.
And just for funzies – here are a couple of shots of the beautiful spring Texas Bluebonnets I grabbed after a photo shoot with the Millers!
