Hey everyone!! Whew….we’re currently on our last week of this incredible journey enjoying Queensland, Australia! I’m trying to get a little caught up on our journeys, so today’s post is my favorite images from our day in Paris and our day trip out to Normandy, France. I can easily say that I need a few more days to properly explore the city of Paris, but enjoyed our quick half day jaunt around via the scary/exciting night tour on bicycles using Fat Tire bike tour! We dominated the Paris streets, and got to see quite a bit in just a few hours! Our trip the next day out to Normandy was at the top of Eric’s list and I’m so glad we made it out to the area. What a sobering reminder of our heroes from WWII and all of our armed forces who fight to protect freedom. As we walked Point du Hoc, Eric told me the story of his grandfather who was there on D-Day flying bombing missions. If you ever have an opportunity, take a day trip (or longer if you’re a history buff) and soak in the history of the place.
Ok, on to photos….then I’m off to soak up some summer sun in Australia
LOVED that I got to see a bride and groom putting their lock on the bridge! Anyone want to fly me back for their Parisian wedding or a wedding photo shoot?!?! I know of some beautiful locations for photos now!
We happend upon Mass going on at Notre Dame!
This is the one shot I got from our Fat Tire Bike Tour around Paris!! It was insane, but so much fun!
Of course I needed to visit the Palace of Versailles….it was rainy and cold, but neat – wish we had better weather in Paris in general, but we did for Normandy!
And now…NORMANDY BEACHES
Meet the sweet, French Westie I met! I actually met two here in Normandy…one was Dutch! I miss my dog.
We visited Points du Hoc…research it, visit it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pointe_du_Hoc
View from the German bunker looking over the cliffs…waiting for the Army Rangers.
We also had time to visit the Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial that overlooks Omaha Beach.
And of course made a stop at Omaha Beach. We found these two great memorials that are the only thing that make this beautiful beach a reminder of that day….
Next up on the blog…..Jacob & Kelsey’s Munich Engagement session!! Have a great weekend everyone!
