“A beloved portrait session is not just a photo shoot, it’s a celebration of love and genuine communication. As beloved photographers, we want to make honest images that move people, that document these small moments that you cherish but perhaps sometimes forget. These images serve as a doorway to bring two people back to the beginning of their journey together. We invite couples to share a piece of themselves and capture valuable moments through the art of photography.” – The Beloved Movement
Aubree and Patrick are so dear to me. She’s practically my sister, I was the Matron of Honor at their wedding 2 1/2 years ago. Currently we live on opposite ends of the country and see each other about once a year if we’re lucky to visit home (Austin) at the same time. Her husband is also in the military and these two love birds are often seperated from one another. I took this opportunity to have them together in our home town to do a “Beloved” sessionwith me to showcase their love for one another and freeze this moment in their marriage to cherish and gaze at whenever the military takes them apart. Having lived and gone to school in Dripping Springs, I’ve always driven past this awesome old train car off 290 and thought it would be a perfect location for some really fun texture. Add to that I got to pick out their wardrobe: we went with a brown & turquoise color scheme and it made for an organized fabulous session! I love you guys, thanks again for a great morning!
Josh de Rox is a photographer that captured my attention at 2010 WPPI convention and I learned about the idea of a “Beloved” session after the wedding, for couples, anytime. “The concept was to explore photography as a means to celebrate and renew relationship, the emphasis being to create the ideal environment for the couple to experience each other. Instead of taking images of people and trying to make them look happy or in love, he focused on inviting them to a place where they were feeling incredible joy and deep love, acutely aware of their connection with one another, and then capturing those powerful, genuine expressions.”

The last two photos are my favorite! The dog’s expression is adorable. What a beautiful session.
